Tykkimäki Amusement Park, Kouvola
One of the places we will definitely be visiting while we are in Finland is the area around Kouvola, around 50km north of Kotka. We'll probably drive there, with Anna's sister Olga, but perhaps we might take Anna's parents and uncle and aunt with us on the train.
Anyway, while we are there, we'll certainly be planning to visit the 3rd largest amusement park in Finland, at Tykkimäki. This sounds like it'll be a great day out for Sandy especially, with over 40 different rides available. Full details of the park are available here and also in the links section.

Isn´t this blog fun or what :) If you are willing to change your plan my hometown (Kuopio) is worth visiting!
Welcome to Finland!
We are certainly looking forward to our trip Annu! I have had a quick look at your hometown via the web, and it looks a lovely place!
The more I look at all the information I have about Finland, the better it looks! By the way, do you have any recommendations for places close to Kotka to visit? Of course we'll see Helsinki, and we'll also visit Porvoo, but I would appreciate any thoughts about places inland from the coast, if you know any worth visiting. Thanks again.
Hi Michael,
just popped in to see your blog and it looks great! ...and I can see Annu has also been reading my blog's comments ;) (we're almost family). One thing that's great about Finland (among other things ;)) is that it's really safe here, so it's a great place to travel with children. One interesting place you might want to take a look at is the village of Fiskars, http://www.fiskarsvillage.net/index_e.htm . I've never been there but I know it's a beautiful, artful village.
Welcome to Finland! I think you'll have a great time here, and your kids, too!
I think you also should see Porvoo: http://www.porvoo.fi. Especially the "old Porvoo" is lovely place in summer time. Wooden houses, little shops and cafes.
Fiskars is lovely, too. And Rauma: http://www.rauma.fi
In Naantali there is Muumimaailma = Moominworld. Kids would love it :)

Thanks Annu, I've looked at all the sites. Naatali looks fantastic! We'll definitely visit Porvoo.
